Community Coaching Programme

Galway Sports Partnership are offering a Community Coaching Programme to persons who are presently out of work. 


This programme facilitated by Galway Community College, Mooneenegeshia, Galway, and Dochas don Óige, Liosbaun Estate, is focused on successfully assisting unemployed people to gain employment, through coaching, volunteering and further education opportunities in the sports sector through the delivery of specialised training and education courses - for example as coaches, referees, physical activity leaders etc. 

It will provide the participants with practical and theoretical sport-related skills and help them find relevant work experience in their local community with NGB’s, Clubs and Sports Partnerships. 


This is a 14 week programme, three days a week, Tue, Wed and Thurs, for six hours per day. It is free to all participants. 


Participants will receive tutition in Job Readiness Skills Development, Personnel Development skills( help to identify progression routes for employment/self employment), Coaching in five different sports, Courses on First Aid, Child Protection and Disability Awareness Training to name by some. Finally participants will have the opportunity to get job placement experience (unpaid), with NGB's, clubs, schools, communities.
