Kilconieron qualified for the semi final of the minor b championship with a 5 point victory over moycullen last Saturday.

Despite playing against a slight breeze Kilconieron got the perfect start with an Evan Cannon goal in the first minute. Moycullen dominated the rest of the first quarter and had drawn level by the 15th minute at 0-5 to 1-2. Both teams traded points from there to half time with kilconieron leading by 1-6 to 0-8 at the break.

It was in the 3rd quarter that kilconieron really took control as they opened up a 7 point lead at 1-13 to 0-9. Moycullen got back into the game with 2 late goals and there were only 2 points in it entering injury time but a late Evan Dempsey goal ensured victory for kilconieron on a 2-18 to 2-13 scoreline.

Kilconieron now move on to meet Rahoon/Salthill in the semi final next Saturday in athenry at 2pm. Please support
